About Stockton-on-Tees Family Information Service
Stockton Families Information Service provides free, impartial information, advice and guidance to parents, carers, young people and employers over the telephone, via email or face to face by appointment. We also have a Language Line service available for those who do not have English as their first language.
The range of information includes:
- Registered and unregistered childcare services
- Financial assistance with the cost of bringing up children, including childcare costs and funding for 3 & 4 year olds
- Help and guidance for people wishing to work in childcare or set up a childcare business
- Information on family services including:
- leisure activities, places to go, things to do,
- specialist support groups including including family and relationships, health, counselling, behavioural difficulties, money advice, schools, complex\additional and special educational needs
- Hospitals, GP surgeries, dentists, opticians
The Families Information Service is open Monday to Thursday 8.30 a.m – 5.00 pm and from 8.30 a.m. – 4.30 pm on Fridays. An answerphone service is available outside these times. We are also able to offer an appointment service outside office hours where necessary.
Please note: Not all childcare providers wish to advertise their services via the internet, so if you don’t find childcare provision in your area of choice or if you are having difficulty finding a suitable provider with vacancies, please contact the FIS directly for further help.
