About North Tyneside Families Information Service
The Families Information Service is for parents with children up to their 20th birthday, parents-to-be, professionals and those working with children and young people. The Service offers information, advice and guidance on:
Childcare Services
- Registered and non-registered childcare services in North Tyneside
- Choosing childcare, including the "free entitlement to early years provision"
- Finding appropriate childcare for individual family needs, including a Brokerage service for parents who find it difficult to access childcare
- What's happening in local Children's Centres
- Help available to assist with the cost of childcare
- Working with children and young people
In addition, the Families Information Service offers an Information and Signposting service on issues affecting families, including:
- Family Support and Assistance
- Health Services
- Education
- Sport and Leisure Activities
The Service is accessible by telephone helpline, minicom, email and through the website. In addition, a comprehensive outreach programme operates which includes weekly 'drop-in' sessions across the North Tyneside area.
The Families Information Service is available:
Monday - 8.30am to 5.00pm
Tuesday - 8.30am to 5.00pm
Wednesday - 10.30am to 5.00pm
Thursday - 8.30am to 5.00pm
Friday - 8.30am to 4.30pm
