About Cambridgeshire FIS

Cambridgeshire Families Information Services offers information on a wide range of services which aim to improve outcomes for children, young people and their parents and carers. The service also includes the Childcare Information Service.

The Childcare Information Service provides free information, advice and assistance to parents, carers, professionals, childcare providers and those interested in a career in childcare as follows:

• All registered and non-registered early years education and childcare
• Financial information on how to pay for childcare, and other financial benefits for families and working parents
• Working parents’ rights
• Signposting to sources of support for families and information on activities for children and young people
• Brokering childcare for families who require some in-depth support. For parents of disabled children we can offer home visits and accompanied visits to childcare premises, as well as more targeted support to help access funding.
• The CIS offers a job advertising service for childcare providers and provides information to people who wish to work or train in the childcare profession.

This matrix accredited service is confidential, impartial and free of charge and is available 8.30am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday via:
