About Nottinghamshire Families Information Service
Nottinghamshire Families Information Service (FIS) provides information about local services, support and activities, including childcare, for parents and carers of children and young people up to the age of 20 years.
Nottinghamshire FIS is for children, young people and their families, including those with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
We can search your local area to help you to find:
- Childminders*
- Pre-school playgroups*
- Day nurseries*
- Nurseries attached to schools
- Breakfast clubs*
- Out of school clubs*
- Holiday playschemes*
- Sure start children's centres
- Parent and toddler groups.
*Ofsted registered childcare
We can tell you about the help available to cover the costs of childcare, ask us about:
- Working tax credit
- Our own childcare support scheme
- Employer supported childcare.
We can also help if you:
- Want to become a registered childminder
- Want to set up a new day care facility
- Are an employer who needs to address the childcare needs of your employees
- Would like signposted to other services for children, young people and families, or support services for disabled children, young people and their families.
